The Mitchell family has been farming together in the San Luis Valley since the late 1930s. Today, in it’s third generation, bothers Tyler and Clay grow 1,200 acres of russet potatoes.
Tyler and Clay are continually looking for ways to improve farming operations. Tillage practices, biological chemistries, organic farming, reduced water usage – all with the intention of growing better potatoes and being good stewards of the land.
Why Idaho Potatoes
Only potatoes grown in Idaho can be called Idaho® potatoes. Idaho’s ideal growing conditions – the rich, volcanic soil, climate and irrigation – are what differentiate Idaho® potatoes from potatoes grown in other states.
